Planning Tool for creating nutritionally-balanced meals

Whether you're focusing on general health or specific dietary goals, this prototype tool helps guide your meal planning with a detailed view of the nutrients in your selected food combinations. Exploring the range and amounts of nutrients on your plate allows you to spot gaps and find alternate foods to consider.

(Only a small selection of foods is included in this prototype. Note that the visualization is best viewed on desktop screens.)

Explore the nutrients that each food provides. Add items to your plate, then hover over a nutrient circle to view details. Click on a nutrient circle to highlight other foods on your plate with that same nutrient.
Click on a nutrient in the Nutrient Focus list to isolate that nutrient on your plate and show the amount in each food item. If one of the food items does not contain that nutrient, click the dropdown menu to view alternate foods that do.
Build your menu under Nutrient Targets to check how nutritional values stack up and identify gaps.
Use the Nutrient Explorer to select specific nutrients and identify which foods are the best sources.
